New Delhi, Jul 19 (UNI) Ahead of the crucial July 22 Confidence Motion in the Lok Sabha, the opponents of the Indo-US Nuclear Deal today intensified their efforts for better floor coordination to vote out the 50-month old Manmohan Singh Government.
While BSP supremo Mayawati called up the Left leaders - Prakash Karat and A B Bardhan- impressing upon them for better and effective floor coordination, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu had a detailed meeting with CPI leaders on the issues to be raised during the two-day debate in the House.
CPI National Secretary Shamim Faizi told UNI that during Mr Naidu's 40-minute meeting with his party leaders, A B Bardhan and D Raja, it was decided that Mr Naidu will contact the regional parties for floor coordination.
''We have made certain suggestions to Mr Naidu, to immediately meet our contacts within and outside the UPA'' said Mr Faizi.
The CPI leader also claimed that the fast changing political equations were signalling that the Prime Minister will have to tender his resignation even before facing the House.
Asked about the reason, he explained that the present political scenario has turned out to be such, that the ruling coalition did not have the majority, despite all its nefarious indulging in horse-trading, getting the convicted MPs to vote and offering ministerial berths among other unethical and undemocratic allurements.
''The UPA itself is in disintegration process. There are rebels within the RJD, PMK and LJP,'' Mr Faizi said.
