Haryana govt to ensure quality seeds to farmers
Chandigarh, Jul 19 (UNI) The Haryana Government has directed the state Seed Certification Agency to ensure sufficient availability of high quality seeds to the farmers of the state so that agriculture production targets are achieved.
These directions were issued by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Mr Krishna Mohan during his inspection visit to the office of Seed Certification Agency and Seed Certification Laboratory at Panchkula.
He said that quality seeds play an important role to achieve higher production. He lauded the efforts of the Agency for providing high quality seeds to the farmers.
Earlier, the Director, Seeds Certification Agency, Dr B S Pahil gave a brief account to Mr Mohan about the activities of the Agency.
The Agency had prepared many agriculture related projects for availing assistance from the Central Government which had been fully utilized for the benefit of farmers, he added.
