Gang member held in robbery case in AP

Vijayawada, Jul 19: Police arrested the member of a gang which was involved in a robbery case and recovered Rs four lakh from him.

Speaking to reporters here today, City Police Commissioner K V Rajendranath Reddy said a seven-member gang assaulted V Papa Rao and robbed him of Rs 12 lakh at Rayanpadu Railway Station, near here.

Promising to get gold at a lower price for the amount, the gang took him to the Railway Station where he was pushed from the autorickshaw in which they were travelling.

After grabbing the money from him, they caught the East Coast Express and fled.

Mr Reddy said a hunt was on to catch other members of the gang involved in the crime.
