Ex-Mayor quits party
Vijayawada, July 19 (UNI) Former Vijayawada Mayor and CPI Corporator Tadi Sakuntala today resigned from the primary membership of the party.
Speaking to the press here, Ms Sakuntala said she submitted her resignation letter to CPI Secretary K Subba Raju this morning.She would talk to State CPI Secretary K Narayana later this evening.
Ms Sakuntala said she took the decision as she was not getting any prominence in the pary for which she had served loyally for over three decades and added she felt the need for a bigger platform to highlight the women's cause.
To a question, she denied joining Actor Chiranjeevi's party for contesting for Assembly.
