Congress indulging in 'Nuclear Blackmail': BJP
Bangalore, Jul 19 (UNI) BJP National Vice-President Mukthar Abbas Naqvi today alleged that the Congress at the Centre had indulged in 'Nuclear Blackmail' to push through the Indo-US Nuclear Deal.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Naqvi alleged that the Congress headed by Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had been telling that without the Nuclear Deal, the country could not get fertiliser and power and combat terrorism. Both Ms Gandhi and Dr Singh were working overtime to save the government and thus indulging in ''horse trading,'' he added.
''The Congress has converted the August House of Parliament into a Stock Exchange of political parties. In 1990, the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao had laid the foundation for suitcase politics where open tradings of MPs were done to remain in power, and now they are working overtime to break the record of Mr Rao,'' he alleged.
Alleging that the Congress was playing the ''dirtiest'' game in politics, Mr Naqvi hoped that people would give a befitting reply to the Congress in the next elections. ''The UPA Government will not survive the trust vote on July 22 and elections to Lok Sabha will be held this year,'' he claimed.
To a question, the BJP Vice President ruled out any alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) or Samajawadi Party (SP) in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
