25 Bangladeshis held in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Jul 19 (UNI) As many as 25 Bangladeshis were arrested today by the city police from Chandola Talao area of the city for non-possession of legal documents.

City police sources said acting on a specific information, a police team raided several houses in Chandola Talao area and arrested the 25 Bangladeshis.

Police said,''They were living in a slum of Chandola Talao area without valid documents and passport.'' After their arrest, the city police have initiated measures through the Indian External Affairs Ministry, to deport them back to their country, sources said.

The police have also begun a detailed investigation into the intent and activities of these intruders. They are also investigating whether they were involved in any anti-national or anti-social activities, police added.
