Woman sues surgeon for unwanted tattoo below her panty line!
Melbourne, July 18: A woman in New Jersey has sued an orthopaedic surgeon for causing her emotional distress, after she found a tattoo below her panty line following her surgery for a herniated disc.
Elizabeth Mateo's attorney Gregg A. Shivers has revealed that she has filed a lawsuit against surgeon Steven Kirshner because she was upset by the temporary tattoo of a red rose.
"She was extremely emotionally upset by it," Daily Telegraph quoted Shivers as telling the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Surgeon Kirshner does not deny that he placed a tattoo on Mateo.
His lawyer Robert Agre said that the doctor had left washable marks on patients before to improve their spirits as they heal.
"What's offensive about this complaint is that it suggests something he did was intended to be prurient, and nothing could be further from the truth," Agre said.
"It was intended just to make the patient feel better," the lawyer added.
Mateo is seeking punitive and compensatory damages.
