PETA protests KFC's alleged cruelty to chickens

Chandigarh, July 18, 2008 : Activists of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA staged a demonstration in front of American fast food Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet in Chandigarh against cruelty towards chicken.

The protest was a part of an international campaign to pressurise KFC to set a benchmark for slaughter of chickens. KFC is the largest chicken buyer in the world and slaughters over 850 million chickens.
