President asks media to help society develop positive approach
New Delhi, Jul 18 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today asked the media to help change the mentality of the society.
The President made these observation after receiving the first copy of the book 'Naami chehron se yaadgar mulaqaaten' authored by Editors' Guild of India president Alok Mehta at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
The book carries interviews of leaders and personalities including Indira Gandhi and Ms Patil herself, which she gave to Mehta before becoming the President.
Ms Patil said while India has established itself as a strong economic power, it was important that the approach of the society also turns positive.
She said the media played an important role in carving the opinion of the masses. The newspapers should, she said, present the correct prespective.
