One killed in abduction bid by militants

Jammu, Jul 18 (UNI) One person was killed and another critically injured as militants abducted them from Dudu, a remote village in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.

Unidentified militants struck in the forest area of Lambagot and kidnapped three people, police said.

''One of the kidnapped persons, identified as Kashmir Singh, was found dead while another, namely Darshan Kumar, was critically injured but managed to flee.

Later, he was evacuated by the police,'' they said. The third person was still missing and the security forces were deployed there to search for him, they added.
