Ombudsman for Coop Sector: Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 18: Kerala Cooperation Minister G Sudhakaran told the State Assembly the government proposing to have an Ombudsman in the Cooperative Sector.
Replying to questions by Mr M M Monayi and others, he said with the introduction of the Ombudsman, there would be speedy solutions for various complaints on loans, deposits and interest rate.
Mr Sudhakaran said the Cooperative Act should be amended and the Bill in this regard would be presented in the Assembly with the approval of the Cabinet after getting clearance from the Law Department.
Under the amendments, women would get 33 per cent representation in the Administrative Committee while three per cent reservation would be given to the handicapped.
