Mumbai Port, JNPT, Cochin Port win Rajbhasha Awards

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Shipping Minister T R Baalu today gave away the Rajbhasha Shields for the years 2001-02 to 2004-05 to the various port trusts and autonomous bodies for promoting progressive use of the official language.

The Mumbai Port Trust won the Shield for 2001-02, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) for 2002-03, Cochin Port Trust for 2003-04 and JNPT again for 2004-05.

The detailed list of the awardees: For 2001-2002, Mumbai Port Trust (First), Inland Waterways Authority of India and Vishakhapattnam Port Trust (Joint Second), and JNPT and Cochin Shipyard Limited (Joint Third).

For 2002-2003, JNPT (First), Mumbai Port Trust and Directorate General of Light House and Lightships (Joint Second), and Cochin Shipyard Limited and Kolkata Port Trust (Joint Third).

For 2003-2004, Cochin Port Trust (First), JNPT and Inland Waterways Authority of India (Joint Second), and Mumbai Port Trust and Directorate General of Light House and Lightships (Joint Third).

For 2004-2005, JNPT (First), Cochin Port Trust and Mumbai Port Trust (Joint Second), and Inland Waterways Authority of India and Directorate General of Light House and Lightships (Joint Third).
