Law students pen book on reservation
Chennai, July 18 (UNI) Two students of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, have done their university proud by authoring a book on the controversial and complex area of reservation and anti-discrimination.
According to legal sources, Anirudh Krishnan and Hrini Sudersan authored the book 'Law of Reservation and Anti Discrimination-with Special Emphasis on Education and Employment,' containing the march of law, beginning with the famed 'Champakkam Dorairajan's case' to the more recent 'Indra Sawhney and Ashok Kumar Thakur's case.' Besides the milestone judgements, the book deals with a large number of cases fine tuning the law and ironing out practical difficulties in effectuating the reservation policy.
''The book is a comprehensive fulfillment of the need for a treatise dealing exclusively with this field, not only does it contain an exhaustive and critical commentary, but also an interesting collection of articles by youths from all over the country,'' the sources said.
The book was mainly Anirudh's dream of converting his extensive research on reservation into a legal commentary and it was backed by Wadhwa brothers of Wadhwa and Company.
The book is being released tomorrow at the sixth Annual convocation of NALSAR university, to be graced by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court A R Dave and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
