Kerala HC admits plea against ban on prayer service
Kochi, July 18 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today admitted a petition, challenging the order of the Kottayam District Collector, prohibiting prayer service by Heavenly Feast evangelical organisation at Nagampadam in the city.
Mr Justice R Basant also issued notices to the Collector and President of the local unit of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam.
The petition was filed by the trustees of Heavenly Feast Dr Mathew Kuruvilla and Dr Thomas Abraham.
The prayer service was banned by the district authorities following a dispute between Heavenly Feast and SNDP, representing the Ezhava caste.
