HP government providing scholarships to IRDP students

Shimla, Jul 18 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government is providing scholarships to students belonging to the IRDP category to help them pursue their education, an official spokesman today said.

Under the scheme, the IRDP students were being provided an annual scholarship of Rs 150 per student up to fifth standard, Rs 250 per student up to eighth standard, whereas Rs 500 per student was being provided to girls from sixth to eighth standards, he said in a release here.

The spokesman said the scholarship was being provided to students of those IRDP families whose annual income was not more than Rs 11,000 per annum.

All eligible students could apply for availing the scholarship through the heads of their schools to Deputy Director, Elementary Education of the concerned district along with Himachali certificate, IRDP certificate issued by concerned B.D.O, he added.
