HC direction to Ernakulam Dist Collector

Kochi, July 18 (UNI) Kerala High Court today directed Ernakulam District Collector M Beena to personally appear before it on July 30.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice A K Basheer issued the order in a contempt of court petition filed by Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary S A Mansoor.

The petitioner submitted that the earlier direction given by the court to reconstruct the footpath and pavements on either side of M G Road was not implemented and the District Collector ''willfully and deliberately disobeyed'' the court orders.
