Biocon Cheif supports Indo-U.S nuclear deal

Bangalore, Jul 18 (UNI) Biocon chief and Mission Leader of CII's National Task Force on Biotechnology, Kiran Majumdar Shaw, supported UPA government on the nuclear deal saying that it was in the interest of the country.

Speaking at a product launch she said with the conventional energy sources of energy becoming more costly and depleting progressively, it makes sense to look for alternate energy sources and Nuclear deal with U.S should serve as good for our booming economy.

Replying to questions she said that taking different stand on the nuclear deal with United States will not only send wrong signal outside world and also to our own people.

Ms Shaw, who was vocal in favour of retaining the HAL airport for domestic operations expressed confidence that the industries appeal for the same would be recognised.
