37 hectares being brought under new fruit plantation in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 18 (UNI) Under the new scheme, 37 hectares of land is being brought under horticulture department in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, official sources said today.
They said the horticulture department will spend Rs 4.86 lakh on the development of horticulture in the district where 37 hectares of land will be brought under new fruit plantation.
About 16,000 hectares of orchard area has been treated against pests and diseases during the current fruit season.
Meanwhile, the department organised a day-long training-cum- awareness camp in which over 100 educated women of Bandipora tehsil were imparted training in food technology and fruit preservation.
The training was given by the subject matter experts of the horticulture department.
