18,110 income generating units being set up in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jul 18 (UNI) About 18,110 income generating units with a loan facility of Rs 557.94 crore are targeted to be established in Srinagar district where under the government sponsored schemes 3,122 profitable units are to come up with a financial implication of Rs 41.72 crore.

An official spokesman said today that this information was given at a District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) meeting held under Lead Bank Scheme here today by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Kachoo Asfandyar Khan.

It was given out that under priority sector, 8110 profitable units are being set up with a loan facility of Rs 158 crore, while under non-priority sector, 10,000 ventures are to come up with a financial assistance of Rs 400 crore under the current year's action plan.

Reviewing last year's achievements under action plan in the district, it was informed that 35,193 units of various nature were established, for which financial institutions disbursed loans to the tune of Rs 1,188 crore among the beneficiaries recording an achievement of 277 per cent which is most encouraging.

Under agriculture and allied sectors, 187 units were set up, under non-agriculture sector and SSI 1,272 units while under Trade and Services sector, 6,921 units have come up.
