UD Ministry sanctions projects for states under JNNURM
New Delhi, Jul 17 (UNI) The Urban Development Ministry has sanctioned several projects for Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
The Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) of the Sub-Mission on urban infrastructure and governance has given the approvals.
In Rajasthan, construction of 42 km long Bus Rapid Transport System for Jaipur system as Phase-1 has been approved. The total project cost is Rs 7519.00 lakh. The Ministry has allocated Rs 3759.50 lakh as Central share under JNNURM. A total of Rs 939.88 lakh as second installment, being 25 percent of central share will be released.
For Meghalaya, Drainage Master Plan for Shillong (Phase - 1) has been approved having a total project cost Rs 2446.00 lakh. The Centre is contributing Rs 2201.40 lakh as central share which is 90 percent of the total project cost.
First, installment of Rs 550.35 lakh--25 percent of Central share will be released soon.
For Indore, Madhya Pradesh Yashwant Sagar Water Supply System Augmentation Scheme of Indore, CSMC has given approval for release of Rs 297.00 lakh as second installment of central share.
The total cost of the Project is Rs 2375 lakh with the Centre contributing Rs 1188 lakh. The second installment amounting to Rs 1230.62 lakh, which is 25 percent of Central share of Rs 4922.50 lakh, has also been approved for the Bus Rapid Transport System of Indore. Total Project cost is Rs 9845,00 lakh.
These projects are implemented by the Indore Municipal Corporation. The Ministry of Urban Development has recommended the release of additional central assistance to the Ministry of Finance.
In Maharashtra, second installments of renewal and management of sewerage and drainage disposal system for Pune and subway on Westerly Bypass at Baner Junction, Pune have been approved. The Project cost of sewerage disposal system is Rs.9778.00, central share amounts to Rs 4889.00 lakh.
Twenty five percent of Central share to the tune of Rs 1222.25 lakh has been approved.
For subway on bypass a second installment of Rs 90.75 lakh will be released soon.
Ministry of Urban Development is contributing Rs.363.00 lakh out of the total project cost of Rs 726 lakh.
Sewerage proposal for Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra will get third installment of Rs 1492.36 lakh.
Total cost of this Project is Rs.11938.88 lakh and the Central share is Rs 5969.44 lakh.
