Agartala, Jul 17: The Tripua Police arrested two Assamese miscreants and seized fake notes worth Rs 14,100 from the bordering location of North Tripura.
Police said here today that acting on a tip-off, sleuths of local police conducted raids in bordering Tillabazar area under Kailashahar police station and arrested one Mujib Ali (24) of Karimganj, Assam, yesterday.
Acting on the information given by him during his interrogation, police later arrested another miscreant Khaleque Mian (40) of Karimganj.
Both of them admitted that they were involved in inter-state fake currency business for the past few years, police added.
The sleuths also seized fake currency worth about Rs 1.63 lakh fake currency in seven operations conducted in bordering villages under Kailashahar police station area during the past one year.
