Tribals campaign against illegal mining

Jhabua, MP, Jul 17 (UNI) A rally was taken out by tribals to protest the illegal mining of manganese under the banner of Janjagaran Manch at this district's Majli Danguri village.

A memorandum was given to the Governor and Chief Minister and it alleged that the kin of a state minister's personal assistant was involved in illegal mining at Meghnagar tahsil area.

Alleging that the accused had been enjoying the minister's protection, the tribals complained in the memorandum that the administration did not take any action against them.

They also urged to take immediate action against the accused.

''The continuous illegal mining in the area by a private company since two years has been posing threat to the environment and created a condition of ecological imbalance,'' the Manch added.
