Titan pitches in to create awareness on endangered species
Chennai, July 17 (UNI) Titan Industries, the country's leading producer and retailer of watches and jewellery, has tied up with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to unveil new collections, featuring the elements of five endangered species.
Talking to newspersons after the inauguration of an exclusive World of Titan showroom here, Mr Ajoy H Chawla, Business Head-Titan and Retail, said the tie up with WWF was mainly to create awareness about the endangered species among the adults and youth.
WWF had identified five species, including Red Panda, Tiger and Dolphin, to be included in Titan's new collections, which would be launched in September this year, he said.
Mr Chawla also announced the rolling out of 'Stambha', the women's watch in the Heritage collection, at the new showroom, the 13th in the city and 245th in the country. The heritage collection reflected the architectural beauty of the country and targetted the global market.
''We will come out with a new collection every two months,'' he said, adding that the new showroom provided access to innovative and stylish Titan products featuring over 1,000 watches from Titan, Nebula, Raga, Sonata, Fastrack and Tommy Hilfiger, whilst also showcasing Fastrack sunglasses.
Titan proposed to open about 20 shops here and 300 showrooms in the country in the next one to one and a half years, he said.
