Rs 55 crore released for relief measures, HP minister

Shimla, Jul 17 (UNI) A sum of Rs 55 crore has been released to deputy commissioners and heads of various departments for carrying out relief measures in various parts of Himachal Pradesh due to heavy monsoon this year, state Revenue Minister Thakur Gulab Singh said today.

In all, a total amount of Rs 29 crore has been released to deputy commissioners for carrying out restoration works, he said here, while presiding over a meeting of revenue officers to take stock of the losses in the state due to the rains.

Mr Thakur said of this Rs five crore has been released to Mandi deputy commissioner, Rs four crore each to deputy commissioners of Shimla, Kullu and Chamba, Rs three crore each to deputy commissioners of Kangra and Sirmaur, Rs 1.50 to Kinnuar deputy commissioner, Rs one crore each to deputy commissioners Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan and Una and Rs 50 lakh to deputy commissioner Lahaul Spiti district.
