JK: One school for five students in Gurez Tehsil
Srinagar, Jul 17: An average of one educational institute has been set up for five students in Gurez tehsil, bordering Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) in north Kashmir.
According to official figures avaiable here, there are 1209 educational institutions for 5900 students.
It said that the education department is making strenuous efforts to universalise educational facilities in Gurez tehsil.
It said that Rs 1.19 lakh were disbursed among 251 students for merit scholarships and 1555 text books distributed free of cost among the students from Ist to 8th class during this academic session.
Under the Rehbar-e-Taleem scheme, 205 teachers have also been engaged in the tehsil so far.
