MP-Chhattisgarh exchange transfers
Bhopal, Jul 17 (UNI) State government officials allotted to Chhattisgarh after it was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in 2000 may return to this state by mutual exchange transfers with officials here until April 28, 2009, official sources said.
The General Administration Department's State Reorganisation Cell issued the related order today. Applications and proposals received by the Cell revealed that several officials posted in both states were confronting hurdles on the family front. The allotment was done under the Government of India's Madhya Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000.
The first mutual exchange guidelines were issued by the Cell in 2005 following the Centre's directive in 2003 and the Chhattisgarh regime's concurrence. The deadline was April 28, 2006. With Chhattisgarh's concurrence, it was twice extended to April 28, 2007 and April 28, 2008 sans change in conditions.
