LJP alleges irregularities in implementing Forest Act

Bhopal, Jul 17 (UNI) Alleging irregularities in the implementation of the Forest Act in Madhya Pradesh, the Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) and its social wing Dalit Sena have urged the BJP government to reconstitute the committees for allotment of land among Dalits and tribals.

LJP General Secretary and Dalit Sena Vice President Vimla Sondhia said few thousand workers of the LJP and Dalit Sena from Rewa division today staged dharna in the state capital to press their demands which included allotment of land and compensation to the oustees, whose land was acquired by the government for the construction of Jarmohra dam in Rewa district.

Ms Sondhia said in accordance with the Forest Act, the state government was to allot land, however, she alleged, the BJP government had formed secret committees for this purpose. She demanded to constitute a new committee after convening Gramsabha meeting.

The LJP leader also demanded that land be provided for the proposed chemical fertiliser factory in Rewa district and names of Dalits and Adivasis included in the voters' list.

She said a delegation of the LJP today met Governor Balram Jakhar and submitted a memorandum in this regard. The LJP-Dalit Sena activists also planned to gherao the Chief Minister's residence, Ms Sondhia added.
