Hike in former Raj MLAs medical reimbursement
Jaipur, Jul 17 (UNI) Rajasthan Assembly today passed the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Officers and Members Emoluments and Pension) Amendment Bill, 2008, to effect a hike in medical treatment expenses payable to pensioner members.
As per the Bill, the amount reimbursable to the pensioner members on account of medical treatment has now been increased to Rs 8,000 from Rs 5,000 to members up to the age of 75 years and Rs 12,000 per annum to pensioner members above the age of 75 years.
The eligible pensioners would be having an option of receiving a medical allowance of Rs 200 per month for all outdoor treatment, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said while piloting the Bill for approval of the House.
The Bill has been brought on recommendation of Rajasthan Governor S K Singh, Mr Rathore told the House.
Besides, the House also passed the Rajasthan Universities Teachers (Absorption of Temporary Teachers) Bill, 2008, paving way for regularisation of service of around 300 university teachers who have been working for over 20 years or so.
