Govt to amend organ transplant act

New Delhi, Jul 17 (UNI) In view of the kidney scam and to check other such incidents of illegal organ trade, the Health Ministry is planning to amend the Transplantation of Human Organs Act 1994.

The Health Ministry has posted a note on the amendments proposed in the Act on the website of the Ministry of Health&Family Welfare i.e. www.mohfw.nic.in.

People may access the website and submit their views / comments either by post to the Deputy Secretary (MS) of the Ministry at Room No. 208, 'D' Wing, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi 110018 or by email on [email protected] or [email protected] till August 7, 2008.
