Gadkari surges ahead in Nagpur LC polls
Nagpur, July 17 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit President and party candidate Nitin Gadkari has surged ahead of his rivals at the end of the second round of counting for the election from Nagpur Division Graduates constituency of Maharashtra Legislative Council, here today.
Mr Gadkari had polled 13,108 first preference votes at the end of the second round of counting, against 9,892 votes polled by his nearest rival, Baban Taywade, an independent, supported by the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Pradeep Padole of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had polled 3,485 votes.
