FII members to sell ERW MS pipes at Rs 48,000/ton

New Delhi, Jul 17 (UNI) To help the government control the spiralling steel prices, Federation of Industries of India (FII) has agreed to sell ERW MS pipe at Rs 48,000 per tonne (ex-plant) to small consumers.

''To supplement the government efforts to control the increasing prices of steel, FII members have agreed to sell ERW MS pipe at Rs 48,000. These prices will be valid for supplies till further change in raw material prices,'' a statement said.

Continuous input cost escalation and short supples have put a heavy burden on steel pipe industry.

FII members, who have an MoU with SAIL for supply of HR Coil, are also facing a shortage of supply of HR Coil with about 40 per cent of the requirement is being met this month, it added.
