Bardhan's subtle pressure on Ajit Singh
New Delhi, Jul 17: CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan on Thursday, July 17 met Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ajit Singh, who is still undecided about his party's support to the UPA government during voting on trust motion on the Indo-US nuclear deal.
Mr Singh, whose party has three MPs, had earlier said that he was in favour of the nuclear deal but whether he would vote for the UPA government in the Lok Sabha could be decided only after consulting his party MPs and others leaders. The number of MPs Mr Singh has counts greatly in today's scenario when there is neck-and-neck fight between the rival camps. The meeting between the Left leader and the RLD chief comes amid report, that the latter was bargaining hard with the Congress for his party's support.
