1443 pilgrims leave for Amarnath yatra

Jammu, Jul 17 (UNI) A fresh batch of pilgrims escorted by security personnel today left for Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir from yatri bhawan, official sources here said.

Official reports said 1443 pilgrims comprising 999 men, 289 women, 36 children and 119 sadhus left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp amid tight security in 41 vehicles including 33 buses and eight light motor vehicles.

However, over 4.5 lakh pilgrims from across the country had darshans of natural ice-lingam at Amarnath since the two-month long yatra commenced on June 18.
