Samsung forays into digital photo frames, projector segment

New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) Samsung India today announced its foray into digital projectors and digital photo frames segment.

''The digital photo frames segment is a niche one. About 1,500-2,000 units are sold a month. So, a 30-35 per cent market share is easily achievable,'' company Vice President (IT Business) Y J Lee told UNI.

The company has launched its projectors in the high-end segment, which comprises four to five per cent market share.

Besides, it also plans to bring out lower price range models by September this year.

The projector A800, priced at Rs 3,50,000, is powered with DLP 1080p Film Technology, while eight-inch digital photo frame SPF-83H with 128 MB internal memory is available at Rs 9,900.

Samsung also launched three energy efficient LCD Monitors-- T Monitor, Myst Plus and Lime.

''These monitors are 40 per cent more energy efficient in comparison to others. T Monitor has been launched in 19, 20 and 22-inch wide display format and priced in the range of Rs 12,500-15,500,'' he said.

The Lime series comes with an integrated three-megapixel webcam with V2oIP feature optimised for chatting and video conferencing and is priced in the range Rs 14,000-17,000.

The Myst Plus series comes in the 17 and 22-inch model and is priced at Rs 9,575 and Rs 14,000 respectively.
