Punjab officers asked to clear compassionate appointments

Chandigarh, Jul 16 (UNI) Punjab government today issued instructions to all Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Sub Divisional Magistrates in the State to clear all pending cases of compassionate appointments within two months.

An official spokesman said it had come to the notice of government that appointments for group 'C' and 'D' posts on compassionate grounds were pending in various departments due to various reasons, resulting in financial difficulty to the families of deceased employees. The spokesman said all departments have been instructed to clear all such pending cases within two months.

The departments have also been instructed to file a compliance report in this regard to the government.
