New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) An advisory has been issued by the Home Ministry to all states asking them to take adequate security measures during Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi visits.

The advisory has issued following intelligence inputs that there were security lapses in the states where Mr Gandhi recently visited.

Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said the Congress MP's peripheral security will be beefed up in view of the security lapses reported from states which Mr Gandhi visited recently.

Regarding reported breach of barricades during Mr Gandhi's visits, the minister said that this issue has also been taken up and states asked to provide foolproof barricades. ''However, there was no problem with inner security which is being taken care by the SPG.'' Recently, Mr Gandhi had visited naxal-affected states of Chhattisgarh and Orissa and also then poll-bound Karnataka as part of his 'Discover India' campaign.
