Defectors will be taught bitter lesson: Gowda

Hubli, Jul 16(UNI) Charging that BJP in Karnataka was indulged in engineering defection among the members of the opposition legislators using large sum of 'ill-gotten money' former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda said that the 'betrayers' will be taught bitter lesson in the bye-elections.

Speaking newsmen after visiting the house of Puttappa Honnati, a farmer who was died in the incident of police firing in Haveri town recently Mr Gowda said that 'While defection can not be stalled, defectors would be taught lesson for their betrayal during the elections".

Charging that some of the BJP leaders were deploying their ill-gotten money to encourage defection in both Congress and JD(S) Mr Gowda expressed concern for the status of Karnataka Polity.

Replying to questions Mr Gowda reiterated that party will take a decision on Trust vote sought by prime minister Manmohan Singh.
