BSP has nothing to do with Afzal-Dumpy meet

Lucknow, Jul 16 (UNI) Terming the meeting between Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Akbar Ahmad ''Dumpy'' and Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Afzal Ansari as the former's ''personal matter'', the BSP spokesman this evening said the party had nothing to do with it.

Mr Ahmad met Mr Ansari in Ghazipur jail in a private manner. The meet has nothing to do with the party and carried no other meaning, the BSP spokesperson stated in a release here.

Jailed BSP MP Umakant Yadav had also got a message from SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav that he wanted to meet him in jail, but the party did not made it a issue considering it a personal meeting, it added.

Public representatives of different political parties personally met each other on many occasions and it could not be related with the party ideology or any other matter, the BSP spokesman added.
