BHEL bags Rs 160 cr contract in UAE
New Delhi, Jul 16: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Wednesday, July 16 said it had won a Rs 160 crore contract for setting up two gas turbine generating units of 42 MW each in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The order has been received from International Energy Resources, the UAE. The first unit will be set up by March 2009 and the second by July 2009, a BHEL spokesman told UNI. The units will be mounted on barges for mobile power plants to be used in different locations. This is BHEL's second breakthrough in the UAE. The company had got a similar order from Al Ghail Power LLC, a company wholly owned by Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA).
