Army officer washed away in Jammu

Jammu, July 16 (UNI) An army officer was today washed away while crossing a causeway in Nagrota area of jammu city outskirts, official sources here said.

''Lt. Col. Induraj Borgohain, 41 of 116 Engineer Regiment died when he was washed away by water currents early this morning around 0600 hours while crossing a land bridge,'' defence spokesman Lt. Col S D Goswami told UNI.

A resident of Assam, the officer was posted at Nagrota while FIR has been lodged and court of inquiry has been ordered, he added.
