Pondy: Tributes to Congress stalwart Kamaraj

Puducherry, Jul 15: Floral tributes were paid to veteran Congress leader and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Kamaraj on his 106th birth anniversary here today.

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his Cabinet collegues, Speaker R Radhakrishnan, legislators and senior officials of the territorial administration were among others who garlanded the statue of the leader here on behalf of the Union Territory government, to mark the occasion.

Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee President A V Subramanian and party functionaries also garlanded the statue.

Earlier, rich tributes were paid to a decorated picture of Kamaraj at the PCC(I) office here by party office-bearers.

Tributes were also paid at the office of the Puducherry Munnetra Congress(PMC).

While, the Youth Congress and students Congress organised for the feeding of the poor all over the Union Territory, the Kamaraj Trust provided food packets to 1000 people to mark the occasion.
