TN government transferred senior police officials
Chennai, Jul 14 (UNI) In a major reshuffle of senior police officials the Tamil Nadu government today transferred several officers including Joint Commissioners of Police, G Dorairaj and M Ravi.
An official press release here tonight announced that Joint Commissioner of Police (North) M Ravi has been apointed as Deputy Inspector of Police (Administration), Chennai and Mr Durairaj has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kanchepuram Range.
The transfer of senior officials has come in the view of killing of notorious rowdy Baba Suresh in an encouter a couple of days back, involving Mr Ravi and the growing incidents of murder in Vadapalani and West Mambalam areas which was under the control of Mr Durairaj.
Mr A M S Guneseelan has been posted in place of Mr Durairaj and Mr Abhay Kumar Singh, Deputy Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai has been posted in place of Mr Ravi.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration), Chennai, A M S Gunaseelan has been posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, South Zone.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kancheepuram Range, E Ma Masanamuthu, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Villupuram Range.
D Kalpana Nayak, Superintendent of Police has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), Tirunelveli city, in the existing vacancy.
Dr Mahendra Kumar Rathod, Commandant, Regimental Centre, Avadi, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police IX Battalion, Manimutharu in the place of R Tamilchandran who has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Enforcement, Madurai.
Mr Kapilkumar C Saratkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) , Madurai City has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Kanyakumari district in the place of Santosh Kumar who has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (North), Chennai.
R Lalitha Lakshmi has also been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Western Range, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Coimbatore.
Mr R Samuthirapandi, Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Special Investigation Cell, Chennai has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Civil Supplies CID, Chennai.
