TDP asks AP Govt to move KWDT against K'taka
Hyderabad, July 15 (UNI) Telugu Desam Legislature Party Deputy Leader N Janardhan Reddy today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government move the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal (KWDT) against the Karnataka Government to stop construction of a mini-hydel project upstream of the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS).
Talking to reporters here, he claimed that Supreme Court had ''indicted'' the Andhra Pradesh Government, while dismissing a petition filed by a private petitioner against the mini-hydel project.
The TDP would stand by the peasants, agitating against the mini-hydel project, as over 87,000 acres in drought-prone Mahboobnagar district would be deprived of water if the project was completed by the upper riparian state, he said.
