Srinagar, Jul 15 (UNI) '' Janib-i-Manzil'', first official journal of the State Planning and Development Department (SPDD) has suggested that appropriate corrective measures should be taken by the authorities in the Jammu and Kashmir for improving the quality of growth and development of the state economy.
An official spokesman said today that Member Planning Commission Prof Abijeet Sen released the first issue of the quarterly developmental journal.
The Journal has been composed under the guidance of Director General Economics and Statistics G A Qureshi which gives a vivid picture about economic issues of Jammu and Kashmir state and also the development initiatives taken since the beginning of the planning process in the state.
Though the journal is an official organ of the but the contributors still have enjoyed the liberty of undertaking critical analysis and evaluation of the development programmes, strategies and policies of the government.
It suggests appropriate corrective measures and alternatives to be taken by the authorities for improving the quality of growth and development of the state economy.
The maiden issue of the journal has articles from the academically inclined officers of the Economics and Statistics Organisation and scholars from the Universities of the state.
It also contains the development profile of various districts and also highlights the achievements of some development departments.
