Opp demands Arrest of Atram, resignation of Narayan Rane
Mumbai, Jul 15 (UNI) Demanding arrest of the tainted former state minister Dharmrao Baba Atram, leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra legislative council Pandurang Phundkar today wondered how he could leave his official bungalow, in the presence of police, though tiger skin and chinkara bones were recovered from his residence.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Phundkar, alongwith leader of the opposition in the assembly Ramdas Kadam, also sought resignation of revenue minister Narayan Rane against whom strictures had been passed by the Bombay high court in a land allotment case.
''If actor Salman Khan and former cricketer Nawab of Pataudi could be booked for poaching why not Atram'', the opposition leaders asked, saying that this wil be a major issue to be raised during the monsoon session of the state legislature, commencing from tomorrow.
Atram had recently resigned from the ministry. He is a NCP MLA from Gadchiroli-a tribal district.
