NSCN-IM 'finance secy', GPRN/NSCN 'revenue officer' shot dead

Kohima, Jul 15 (UNI) In the unabated inter-factional killings between the rival factions of the NSCN in Nagaland, an 'official of the NSCN-IM in the civil set up' was abducted and shot dead.

Official sources said here today that the victim, reportedly an 'under secretary of finance' in the NSCN-IM set up, hailed from Zhobumai village under Paomata sub-division in Senapati district of Manipur.

He was abducted by GPRN/NSCN cadres yesterday, taken to Jotsoma along with another civilian at gunpoint and later shot dead on Leikhe road.

However, the civilian was released unharmed.

Later, police recovered the NSCN-IM cadre's body from the area with three bullet injuries on his head and back.

Meanwhile, the GPRN/NSCN claimed the responsibility of killing the rival faction's member and also claimed that a bundle of extortion notes were recovered from his possession.

In a separate incident in Dimapur, police recovered a GPRN/NSCN cadre's body from the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) area yesterday.

The victim was identified as a 'revenue officer' of the GPRN/NSCN.
