New building for passport office in Trichy

Tiruchirapalli, July 15 (UNI) Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs Laxminarayan Pandey today said steps would be taken to construct a building to house the passport office here soon.

On his visit to the passport office here along with other committee members, Mr Pandey expressed satisfaction over the facilities made for the public at the office.

Earlier, the committee had convened a meeting of officials of the district administration, Passport Office, Central Public Works Department, Postal Department and Police Department to fine tune the functioning of the passport office.

The panel members also made enquiries with the waiting applicants and visitors about the functioning of the office and attitude of the officials towards them.
