Inter-state bus services resume after suspension of stir

Imphal, Jul 15 (UNI) The inter-state bus services from Manipur resumed today after an indefinite strike started from July 13 evening was called off.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) had called the stir in protest against the killing of Thangtinsei Haokip and Limlenbert on July 11 allegedly by police and BSF personnel.

JAC sources said the stir was called off after the state government agreed to fulfill the customary laws of the Kuki tribe.

The JAC had claimed that the two youths were not militants whereas police claimed that they were insurgents.
