Court to hear arguments on Gawli's application on Thursday
Mumbai, Jul 15 (UNI) The MCOCA court will on Thursday hear arguments on the application filed by gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, accused in an extortion and murder case, seeking permission to attend the state assembly's monsoon session.
The matter was adjourned today, as the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act) Judge Y D Shinde is on leave for three days.
Gawli had filed an application seeking permission to attend the monsoon session of the state legislature, which commences tomorrow.
Gawli is a member of the legislative assembly, elected from Chinchpokli assembly constituency as an Akhil Bharatiya Sena (ABS) candidate.
He was initially arrested in an extortion case by the crime branch sleuths and later booked under MCOCA in Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar murder case. Gawli, at present, is in judicial custody.
