Teachers demand provincialization of schools

Guwahati, Jul 14 (UNI) The united forum of teachers and staff of non-provincialized schools of Assam today staged a dharna near the state Assembly.

The united forum, Assam Sikshak Karmachari Aikya Manch, demanded the immediate provincialization of the schools and madrassas of the state.

They alleged that the staff of these schools were not getting regular salaries and the government was turning a blind eye to their woes even after repeated assurances of meeting their demands.

They also lambasted the government's decision to provincialize some such schools and madrassas, leaving the others in the lurch.
